Cash and ATMs
We suggest carrying several hundred dollars in cash to convert into pesos after you arrive.  ATMs are available but not all are secure.  The Holiday Inn does not exchange AMEX Travelers’ checks.

Food
Seafood is plentiful and delicious.  We recommend drinking bottled water and avoiding fresh salads (anything that is uncooked).  Food in the hotels and restaurants is generally safe.  Don’t forget to use bottled water for brushing your teeth and ask for drinks without ice.
